Faith Lived Faith Passed On

The Christian faith is not only something we believe -
it is something we live and something we faithfully
Pass on. Two words help us understand this calling:
religion and tradition.

Religion & Tradition: God's Design For His People

Religion

Tradition

Faith Lived Out

Faith Handed Down

Religion is not empty ritual or man-made rules. It is faith expressed through worship, prayer, service, and a life devoted to God.

It is our response to God's grace --putting aside our lives to regularly worship Hum, follow Him, and serve others in His name.

"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world."

---James 1:27

Tradition is the wisdom of believers who have gone before us. It preserves the prayer worship, teachings, and practices that have faithfully guided Christians through the centuries.

Without tradition, we are forced to rediscover the same truths over and over again-- and often risk getting it wrong.

"Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught by us, whether by our spoken word or by our letter."

---2 Thessalonians 2:15

Jesus never rejected faithful tradition--He rejected traditions that replaced God's commands with human rules. The apostles taught the received traditions of the faith and urged Christians to hold fast to them (2 Thessalonians 2:15).
We honor the past, test everything by Scripture, and walk humbly with the Holy Spirit today.

OUR COMMITMENT

Everything we believe and do must align with the Word of God.

We receive the wisdom of generation who have followed Christ before us.

We rely on the Spirit to guide, teach, and transform our lives every day.

We faithfully pass on the faith so others can know and follow Jesus in their time.
